I hope the contents of that glass are alcoholic. I'm going to need it after last night.

But I'll still be able to smoke pot legally; the ballot question to make it illegal again failed.

(Not that I want to)

Well.  That was… sub-optimal.

True. And the question is, why? Why did Republicans do nothing to get out the vote? Was it because they only care in presidential election years? No, I think they really prefer to be the party out of power. They can complain but they don't have to actually do anything, while the Dems are happy to work nonstop to get what they want.

The palooka party as Buzz calls them.

In WA only one race... just one had a (R) running on my ballot. The Dems did push through top two ballots a while back. But the (R)s seldom run and effective candidate or campaign and don't make the Nov. ballot.

For Senate, we had 4 candidates, Ed Malarky (Dumbshit), a (R), someone  else, and someone from the "Socialism and Liberation" party. Funny, I thought that WAS the Dumbocrats.

Yes; like a cheap palooka in a '30s boxing picture, the Republicans (who should really change their name to 'the Re-Butt-lickin's") see their role as putting up a show of fight for the first few rounds before taking a dive for the guaranteed short money.
