So the Supreme Court had to make pesky Democrats realize that it's really okay if the President decides to support building something at the White House and that professors who have hurt feelings don't really get to stop such projects. 

Given how often the White House hosts big functions, it's surprising to me that no such plan was ever developed to built a ballroom--or was it? Is this something that was sitting around for years that was never adopted? Because it seemed to come together very quickly, and I'm assuming someone had already developed the plans. Trump just said "Go."

But I'm guessing, because I haven't seen anything on this.

No win situation.

Lousy backdrop, cops creating a crossfire situation, hard to avoid in that environment, frankly I rather a cop catch a stray than a bystander. Ugly thing to say but truth.

But, hey totally avoidable if only a social worker and a crisis counselor show up, right?

Electric lighting correct. Back they lived from can to can't. I'll bet in summer there wasn't two sleeps when nights were shorter. In winter it got dark, people went to bed, when the night was longer I suspect, getting up for a bit was more likely.

I can see the summer sleep schedule being different. That makes sense.

But I'm also wondering about how much it cost to run candles and/or lamps during the winter because of how early it would get dark. It would hit the poor harder, and yet I've not heard or read about a difference in sleep schedules between the socioeconomic classes as a result of light affordability. (Cue DEI gibberish here.)

I agree it’s a very bad situation. That said, I find it a little surprising that from what I could see in the video, not a single cop has an unholsterec firearm before the woman starts advancing waving the knives. They seem to be entirely counting on the tasers to do the job, and that failed miserably. The cop who actually shot her did a very smooth draw and very precise shooting; he is to be commended. If he had been just a little bit off, either too late on the draw or inaccurate on the shots, it would’ve been a disaster.  

At the very least, this video should serve as instruction to people who say that Police should only be allowed to meet lethal force with non-lethal weapon weapons like tasers.

Training. First thing to go when PD budgets get cut.

Training gets you tactical awareness, gets you one cop taking charge and assigning duties, or better the awareness to take roles. Communications one cop and only one making contact, negotiation and demands. Cops who take non-lethal, cops who take lethal. If you have enough on scene you can deploy more than one type of non-lethal. Cops who move to crowd control, Cops who are aware of lines of fire.

That is all training and protocols.

I take that back, the blonde white cop in the very foreground of the video  draws his pistol fairly early in the clip. But he’s not the one who winds up shooting her.

From what I understand, intoxication definitely can reduce the effectiveness of a taser hit, and so can high body weight. This woman at least had the latter. 

And so again I think the Takeaway is, a taser should be understood as a compliance tool, not as a self-defense weapon for cops.
