Yes, the mask slipped.

Problem with "wealth tax" is it doesn't handle when the assets tank.

Say someone gets 10 million in stock for a startup, and has t pay a wealth tax on the stock value at a certain date, but the stock tanks between then and the bill. Still has to pay. There sould be a negative tax for taxed assets that decrease in value. 

A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush - or infinite turkeys in the government

WA State has a Business and Occupation tax.

It is on gross revenue, not net. No deductions for other taxes, losses, expenses or costs.
