I SO want to copy this entire article into the this text edit box, but I won't. But it is good. Oh, it uses the "why take the fifth if you're really innocent" trope, but there is a lot of damning information on Act Blue in this article

If I had to guess, I'd say this was probably the most damning paragraph:

Then there's the legal and compliance team [at Act Blue]. By March 2025, every member of it was gone — resigned, fired, or on extended leave. According to the interim report, "this mass exodus was a direct consequence of ActBlue's failure to deter illegal foreign political donations" and the CEO's prior misstatements to Congress. The report states that every member of the legal and compliance team "appears to have left the platform after the 2024 election because of its 'knowing and willful' acceptance of illegal foreign contributions, and the subsequent cover-up."

Proving yet again I am not a lawyer, today's Coffee and COVID article shared this about Paxton's new lawsuit against ActBlue:

Under criminal law, a defendant’s invocation of the Fifth Amendment cannot be used as evidence against them. But under civil law —like Paxton’s Deceptive Trade Practices suit— a Fifth Amendment invocation can establish a presumption of consciousness of guilt, and witnesses can be ordered to testify anyway, unless they can specify which crime they are worried about.
