I'm constantly surprised how many people are hard core data drive engineers on the job. But all of that analytical ability flies out the window outside their narrow scope of expertise. They will ask hard questions and drill down on material at work.

But any other subject... CNN said so, don't ask questions.

It's not hard to apply that ability to other subjects.

Exactly - scientists who review the evidence in their fields, but support socialism despite all evidence that it does not work.
