For those who have not yet heard, Justice Ginsburg has died at age 87. RIP.

Reply to midwestgak in 1: . A couple of weeks ago, I was behind a Lexus SUV with a picture of RBG (and the initials) on the trailer hitch. The driver was a total jerk, weaving in and out of different lanes.

Reply to midwestgak in 1: She blew it by not retiring when Obama was President, regardless RIP. They all expected Hillary to win and get all the picks that Trump ended up with. Wait for Covid to take a back seat to her replacement now.

[whoever Trump’s proposed pick is] sexually assaulted me in 1980-something. I just want to state that for the record right now.

Tucker just quoted an NPR report that RBG's last words to her granddaughter were that she did not want Trump to replace her. Really? Your last breath on earth, surrounded by your beloved family, and that's what you're thinking about? Either NPR or the family made that up, and either way, it's despicable.

Reply to doppelganglander in 5: She was extremely dedicated to her role on the court, to be sure. In a way it’s a good thing for the conservative cause the way things have ended up. Thanks for pointing this out to me doppel.

Reply to turn in 7: She was wrong about absolutely everything, but she was a woman of remarkable intellect and accomplishment. She raised a fine family and maintained a close friendship with Antonin Scalia, among others. Unlike today's extreme left, she was not a bad person.

Reply to midwestgak in 12: That's the sort of thing a normal person would say. Long ago, I read something quoting a hospice nurse. She said no one ever expressed regret about not spending more time at the office. If they had regrets at all, it was that they wish they'd spent more time with their family.

Reply to doppelganglander in 14: When I first learned of the planes flying into buildings on 9/11, my first thought was to call my closest and nearest and dearest. I did not think of politics or rent or my next oil change. Perhaps a bit different in terms of uncertainty and panic, but the same perhaps in the realization of a certain outcome. Closest and nearest and dearest. I too doubt those were her dying words.

Reply to midwestgak in 16: I joke that my dying words will be "I'm not finished yet!" For one thing, I'm a procrastinator. I also have so many things I want to do and places I want to go, there's no way I'll get it all done even if I live to be 100.

While we were taking our pre-dinner time stroll this evening, little OR suddenly opined to me that it “feels like we are living on stupid coronavirus planet“.
He isn’t wrong.
