I honestly have no opinion on the matter. It does seem like we're selling out a loyal ally in the Kurds, but OTOH I'm sick of Americans dying in the Middle East.

We don't need to protect the Kurds - just not allow Erdogan to go after them. While we can't stop hin as such, Turkey isn't going to attack US troops.

 Number of American servicemen killed in Syria in the last five years is in the single digits. Obviously each one is a tragedy to that person's family, but it's on a par with US diplomatic personal killed in high-risk areas.   I'm hoping there is a bigger picture here to Trump's decision that I am not seeing.

This also sends a message to Israel that they're on their own. Trump will not be able to stop attacks on Iranian influence anywhere now, as Israel will be able to say that they cannot count on the US.

Also, Saudi Arabia and other countries targeted by Iran will go on their own or look for other allies.

This was very stupid.
