Reply to Occasional Reader in 3: I had a student who had been a Ranger. His unit was the one playing the music: their orders were to keep The Pineapple in the cross-hairs of a sniper rifle 24/7. He said that they joked about how much they could probably save taxpayers if someone's finger were to get a little itchy.

So I'm curious about the habits of the RudeBridgers here in terms of going out of your home, what you do while you're out, what you do when you get back home, use of masks, gloves, etc. Among my circle of IRL friends and acquaintances, I've heard of everything from people who are literally not leaving the physical confines of their homes (and getting what they need, delivered); to people who are carrying on more or less as normal, with of course the proviso that a lot of businesses, restaurants, etc. are closed. As for me: I'm teleworking, as is everyone in my workplace. I'm trying to get out for at least two long walks a day, with a goal of at least 10,000 steps for the day (hard to do on some really busy work days). I might combine that walk with a grocery store/pharmacy run at the end to top up supplies. Beginning a few days ago, I've started the practice of wearing a mask (N95) while inside the confines of a store, as much for the peace of mind of others in there (especially checkout clerks) as my own. I see a lot of people walking around wearing nitrile gloves; I have a pair in my pocket, but don't use them much, frankly I'm not sure I see the point. If virus-laden schmutz gets on your gloves, it's basically the same as if it gets on your hands (right?), the key is to wash/sanitize your hands frequently so it's not then getting on your face, clothes, etc. Instead, I carry a little ziploc bag with Lysol wipes with me; I use those on door handles and the like, the theory being it'll kill any viruses instead of merely transferring them to a glove; plus I'm doing a small public service by sterilizing the door handle (or whatever) a bit. When I get home, I spray the soles of my shoes with Lysol, then take them off and put them on a mat right by the door that's covered with a plastic garbage bag. I then spray the top of that bag; and change it out every couple of days. And you?

I gassed up the truck yesterday. Sanitized my hands, pumped, and sanitized before touching anything inside my truck.

Reply to Occasional Reader in 6: My usual lifestyle is a lot like quarantine but with more hand sanitizer. I've been grocery shopping as needed and I've been to see a couple of people while maintaining social distancing. I'm taking groceries to the BF this afternoon.

My life hasn't changed much with the lock down and social distancing stuff. Still go to work, and then go home. Only difference is that I can't go to the range for my weekly meditation and practice. Been shut down until things calm down. Have to figure out other means of meditating. Picked up an archery target/backstop and may pull my small 30lb pull bow out and get back into that aspect of prepping.

So, for what it’s worth as a third or fourth hand rumor that you’re reading on the Internet, I spoke with my sister earlier today, she has a friend whose son is a medical researcher, and who is supposedly “very optimistic“ about treatments and/or vaccines they are working on for coronavirus.

There are promising treatments, but testing them takes time, and producing in volume. And while Trump might try to accelerate the process, the Dems will try to slow it down; just see how some Dem governors are handling Chloroquine which has been around long enough its safety is well known. There are several drugs developed for other coronaviruses, SARS, etc. which show promise in lab tests but were never safety tested on people because of the cost. And at I believe two companies have already sent vaccines to the CDC for testing, but that takes months. There are probably a lot of people willing to be guinea pigs, though.

And of course, all this is being blamed on the jooooos
A Missouri man who was planning to use a car bomb at a local medical
facility died in a confrontation with FBI agents during an attempt to
apprehend him, authorities said.
ABC News reported
that Timothy Wilson, 36, planned to bomb a hospital just outside of
Kansas City. He was killed when he showed up allegedly to purchase an
inert explosive supplied by authorities. Wilson was armed; ABC News
reported that it was unclear if agents shot him or if he killed himself.
He was taken to a local hospital after the confrontation and pronounced
dead.
According to the Anti-Defamation League’s (ADL) Center on Extremism,
Wilson’s Telegram account showed that he was involved with the neo-Nazi
organizations National Socialist Movement and Vorherrschaft Division.
He also had a post that read, “If you don’t think this whole
[coronavirus] thing was engineered by Jews as a power grab here is more
proof of their plans. Jews have been playing the long game we are the
only ones standing in their way.”
