From last night:

Incoming American Airlines Flight 5342 from Wichita, Kan., collided with a Black Hawk helicopter over the Potomac River near Reagan National Airport (DCA) in Washington, D.C., on Wednesday night just before 9 p.m.

OR, do you have better info to share? The last this news article at PJMedia shares is that there was a massive search and rescue operation on the Potomac last night, both the FAA and American Air have released statements, and of course prayers for everyone involved were shared by VP Vance and President Trump.

Trump wants to use Guantanamo to house criminal illegal aliens

Sending criminal illegal migrants to Gitmo would illustrate to the world that the Trump administration is serious about ending the illegal migrant influx. It would also drive home the point that Trump has made many times, that hostile governments are emptying their prisons and sending their prisoners to the U.S., and that the inundation of illegal migrants, including dangerous criminals, truly constitutes an invasion. Invading forces should be treated as the “illegal enemy combatants” that they, in fact, are.

I almost feel sorry for all the LLLiberals who are running out of tears. Almost. But this is definitely an interesting idea, especially if he focuses on aliens with terrible recidivism rates of crossing the border.

The "Expanding Educational Freedom and Opportunity for Families"EO is all about working to ensure every child in this country has access to school choice, something several states are already focused on. It gives the secretary of Education 60 days to "issue guidance regarding how States can use Federal formula funds to support K-12 educational choice initiatives."  The president claims that all parents should have a say in how their children are raised, including how they're educated.

I haven't yet seen the harridan screed from the NEA, but I expect it's a doozy.

After the silliness of the Democrats at several of the cabinet hearings so far, I have no desire to wade into the ones this week. They don't deserve the attention.

USDA Inspector General Tried to Defy Trump's Firing Order, Got Hauled Out of the Building by Security

You know, making public statements that you are going to fight your boss doesn't seem like a winning move.

Damn. Found this:

Officials said Thursday morning that searchers have recovered 27 bodies from the American Airlines flight that collided overnight with a military helicopter and plunged into the Potomac River along Washington, D.C.

They also said one body from the helicopter was recovered and that the emergency operation has moved from a search to a recovery effort. They also said nobody has been rescued from the crash.

Reports I'm seeing no survivors. DC airspace is highly restricted and monitored. Commercial planes have TCAS, Traffic Alert and Collision, Avoidance System, military does not.

Air Traffic Control will be a focus of the investigation, as well as if either aircraft was out of position.

From this the review it looks like the UH/VH-60 turned the wrong way into the CRJ700.

The CRJ was on final approach.

Note: if it was a VH-60, which a VIP transport version of the Blackhawk, not the Presidential version, it does have TCAS but that doesn't work under 1000 feet AGL.

The flight route for the Blackhawk at the point of the collision was no higher than 200 feet.

At the time of the collision the Blackhawk data show it 300 feet.
