Chinese names for Covid pandemic:

COVID - the Great Lab Leak Forward

Viral cultural revolution

(The Democrats are certainly using it for the latter)

I wonder if there is something in COVID that makes people more violent.

That would explain why riots and protests for the side the Democrats want are OK - cause more of the rioting for their side - but events for conservatives is not OK; don't want an insurrection.

It could also add to the violence increase we are already seeing (although a lot of that is due to the defund and prosecute the police movements).

We do know COVID can affect the brain, and who knows what the PLA was working on when it leaked?

Just a hypothesis now; something to think about.

Well... "Covid makes people violent"  would not explain that, IMHO.  That's just politics.  Your hypothesis would only explain part of the underlying cause of the first part of that - more violence/riots by the Left.

"It could also add to the violence increase we are already seeing"

But I don't know that that's a worldwide phenomenon.  Has there been a global uptick in violent crime/riots/etc.?  I don't know.

Morning, campers.

RE: COVID: I think I may now understand why the medical community went absolutely crazy with insanity at the beginning of the pandemic, but I'm not sure I can explain it well.

It has to do with a particular gene that is part of COVID that is also something used in the body. During our evolutionary progress, we adapted certain viral material into our DNA, and part of the structure that makes up COVID is also a part that is part of our DNA through this viral addition way back in history.

I wonder if the docs were seriously worried that when the body started to fight off the virus it would also start attacking the human body. I don't know this, and I might be misunderstanding this, but I could understand the serious concern about this virus before any doctors had seen it yet.

Of course, then it became a great vehicle for bashing Trump's economy.

And meanwhile in Canada, Pretty Pony & Co. continue to push the country toward totalitarianism.

Remember Canada does not protect rights, the way our Constitution does.

Our country is still exceptional in that rights are protected by law from government.

Canada and the other Western traditionally liberal democracies are dependent on the benevolence of the leaders.

Even here we are dependent on the willingness of the leaders to adhere to Constitutional Law.

Ranked choice voting - a new method of election fraud.

The Democratic primary for mayor of New York City was thrown into a state of confusion Tuesday when election officials retracted their latest report on the vote count after realizing it had been corrupted by test data never cleared from a computer system.

But they got caught

Adams’ campaign, which had publicly pointed out the vote discrepancy shortly after the faulty count was released, said in a statement that it remained confident he would ultimately prevail.

The publicized vote totals had included an unexpected jump in the number of ballots counted Tuesday compared to the number counted on the day of the primary.

Of course.

Quick summary of what happened in the NY mayoral race.

Adams, a law and order Democrat, had a commanding lead until Tuesday, while the ranked choices were being calculated.

Then his lead shrunk - but his campaign noticed the number of ballots counted was over 100,000 more than were counted as being cast the day of the election.

"Oops," said the election officials. "We forgot to remove test data."

So how come those test votes were not in the count in the earlier rounds?

An interesting question that had not occurred to me.

I'm merely wondering how they will use this "ranked voting" nonsense to do Adams out of his victory and instead install the palpably-insane Maya Wiley.

Taking a break from basement work--

An analysis of the COVID deaths in Canada--a deep dive into the data, a review of mask usage, and an analysis of the adverse affects from the vaccines.

The number crunching is solid. So who wrote this? Here's the bio from his website:

Who am I? Now that you know my name and have seen my face, the typical thing would be to follow up with a flattering bio. Instead, I’m going to be cheeky. Rock hammers, cattle, financial markets, and blue jeans have all played pivotal rolls in shaping who I am and how I think, but the way they fit together is something I'll leave to your imagination. Perhaps you will imagine me to be a prince among princes. Or a scoundrel among villains. A somebody, an anybody, or perhaps a nobody at all.
In the end it does not matter who I am, what credentials I bring to the table, or how well I can fluff my resume to project an aura of expertise. If what I write has value, my bio should be irrelevant and who I am will be revealed in the spaces between the lines.
Besides, the less you know about me, the less reason you will have to trust me. Which means you will be forced to consider the quality of the evidence I lay on the table based solely on its own merits. And you will have nothing but my thought processes to help you judge whether the conclusions I reach are justified.
And in that, both science and democracy will be well served.

I was reminded about how, years ago, there would be towns in Georgia, particularly, where if you stopped for something, the car wouldn't start afterwards, and the only garage said they had to order parts, etc. All the town was in cahoots to fleece tourists. And the cops, too, as they'd find some excuse to pull over out of state cars, and by the time you paid the ticket, the car wouldn't start. The garage got its money, the hotel, the cop, the judge.....

AAA maps were marked with red where this was known to occur.

This was before the interstate system when the highways went through towns.

That was a long time ago.

Thanks to the the glories of the interwebs, I found a local place that (1) specialized in late model Jeeps and (2) came in with a price a good 50% below what I'd have paid at one of the chains.

I'll set up a jukebox tonight

Breaking: NYC Mayor urges citizens to reduce electricity use IMMEDIATELY to "avoid blackouts".

Boy, it's a good thing they shut down the last generating unit at the Indian Point nuclear power plant this past spring, right?   Because nuclear is baaad, baaaad.
